A Circular Walk from the Watford By-Pass to Munden Ford and back.

Meeting point:By the Porcelanosa showroom, Otterspool Way, Watford.  The postcode is WD25 8HL.

A circular walk from the Watford By-Pass via the Munden Estate to Munden Ford, then back via the Wall Hall Estate and Berrygrove Woods.

Hertfordshire Way Part 7: Hertford to Wadesmill.

Meeting point: The Rutts car park, High Road, Bushey Heath – free on Sundays at time of going to print.  The postcode is WD23 1ND.

We will use a minibus – travel cost is £7 per person.  Please contact David Bearfield to reserve a place.

We begin at the centre of the historic Hertford. We will see Waterford Marsh, Stapleford Church & Woodhall Park. The walk ends at Wadesmill.

Three-in-One Woodland Walk at Ashridge

Meeting point:  Ashridge Estate Visitor Centre car park, Moneybury Hill, Ringshall, Near Berkhamsted off B4506.  The postcode HP4 1LT is nearby.

This walk skirts three of the smaller commons on the Ashridge Estate aswell as crossing a variety of woodland. At this time of the year we should see bluebells!

Colne Valley - Part 11:A Circular Walk from South Harefield to Uxbridge and back.

Meeting point: Park on Moorhall Road close to Widewater Place Business Park, South Harefield.  The postcode UB9 6NS is nearby.

The eleventh circular walk exploring the Colne Valley.  Alongside the Grand Union Canal and Fray’s River to Uxbridge and back across the River Colne via the Colne Valley Visitor Centre and Denham.

A Circular Walk in the Chess Valley.

Meeting point: Chenies village near the church. The postcode is WD3 6EG.

From Chenies we cross the Chess valley heading for Belsize Village. We then make our way to Flaunden via the Hertfordshire way and Chiltern way. We return to Chenies by once more crossing the Chess valley. Classic English countryside

Midsummer Solstice Walk: Merryhill.

Meeting point: The pond at St James Church, Bushey High Street. The postcode is WD23 1BD.

Bushey Festival Circular Walk: Letchmore Heath, Aerodrome and Hilfield Reservoir

Meeting point: The Café in King George Recreation Ground.  There is a car park at the entrance off KingGeorge Avenue.  The postcode is WD23 4NT.

A circular walk using some of the footpaths across fields to Letchmore Heath with a view of Hilfield Reservoir and back over the Elstree aerodrome runway and the green way.

Fishers Field and Ver-Colne Valley Walk.

Walk Bushey footpaths 1, 2, 3 and 4 to view the award winning nature reserve at Fishers Field and the River Colne along the Bushey boundary.

Beginning at Wadesmill we walk a stretch of Ermine Street then pass Thundridge church(ruin). Then on to Timber Hall before reaching the Hamlet of Wareside. The walk ends at Widford.

Colne Valley - Part 12:A Circular Walk from Little Britain to Uxbridge and back.

Meeting point: By Little Britain Lake at junction of Packet Boat Lane and Old Mill Lane, Cowley, Middlesex.  The postcode UB82JR is nearby.

The twelfth circular walk exploring the Colne Valley.  Along the Grand Union Canal towpath through Cowley to Uxbridge and back alongside the River Colne.

 

Sunday 15th November 2020 – 11.00am.  4 miles.

Ver Valley Walk 8: The Confluence Walk.

Meeting point: Watford Junction Station entrance (or platform 11) for the 11:20 train to How Wood, or How Wood station at 11:30. Note: We will buy a group ticket. Oyster cards are not valid on this line.

This is a circular walk around the lakes in Frogmore pits and along the Ver-Colne Valley Walk to the confluence of the Ver and the Colne rivers.

Isle of Dogs.

Meeting point: Edgware Underground Station, Station Rd, Edgware.  The postcode is HA8 7AW.  Note: There is no parking at the station butt here are several town centre car parks. Alternatively many buses, including the 142 stop here.

A circular walk around a relatively new suburb of London. We will see the Millennium Dome, a suburban farm and views of Greenwich across the Thames. Part of the walk is along the Thames path. We finish at Canary Wharf.

 

Friday 1st January 2021 – 11.00am.  4 miles.

Bentley Priory and Little Common.

Meeting point: Stanmore Common car park, Warren Lane, Harrow.  The postcode is HA7 3HQ.

Bring a snack if you wish.  Mince pies will be served during the walk.
