John Sears' Study Days, 2000 here.

(A report written by Sally Banks of the 2001 Study Day is on www.badfa.org.uk/NEWS/sears2001.htm)

John Sears MSc runs these study days every year. He gives talks in the morning and we do a field study in the afternoon. Normally the subject relates to footpaths in some way and we try to keep close to or in Bushey. Since orchids are present only very sparsely in Bushey, we went unusually far in 2000 to Apsley. We were amazed at the varieties of orchid and at the quantity. The steeply sloping old chalk quarry was now attractively grassed.
