Viewing platform Aldenham 8

A supposedly useless hundred metres of path Aldenham 8 to the south of Hogg Lane, was in danger of being closed up officially (it was unofficially closed by a hedge some time ago). Other local groups weren't interested so BADFA spoke to the Chairman of the Water Company (who was opening a new bridleway nearby). He asked us to make a proposal which we did. The water people built the main structure and BADFA built the benches and kissing gate.

The 'useless' path came to life again.

The lake houses thousands of water-loving birds and they can be seen quite well from the platform. In the summer evenings the platform is above most of the midges, and well under the Helicopters from the nearby airfield.
