BADFA formed in 1991 because some local people felt that the paths on or near their doorsteps were an interesting and valuable asset that might repay some extra involvement. In 2001 we incorporated the Watford Fieldpath Association, an organisation with similar aims which was founded in 1899 and which did some sterling work over the years, but which had become non-active. We get involved with bridleways cycleways and byways as well as footpaths.

We AIM  

To help provide and look after paths in an area centred on Bushey but extending widely around, especially to the north and west. To keep records of the paths and the flowers and animals near them To explore their history To help people understand what can and what can’t be done to paths And of course to walk, or ride, them.

We get involved in all aspects of path work. We draft and pursue dedications of new paths, also of diversions where there is substantial public gain. We hold meetings, arrange walks, publish maps, produce newsletters, put up signposts, do clearance and improvement work.

We are (founder) members of the Parish Paths Partnership scheme.
