Bushey And District Footpaths Association

Incorporating Watford Fieldpath Association (Founded 1898)

Registered charity No 1014684

WELCOME TO OUR WEBSITE

BADFA formed in 1991 because some local people felt that the paths on or near their doorsteps were an interesting and valuable asset that might repay some extra involvement. In 2001 we incorporated the Watford Fieldpath Association, an organisation with similar aims which was founded in 1899 and which did some sterling work over the years, but which had become non-active. We get involved with bridleways cycleways and byways as well as footpaths.

We AIM To help provide paths, improve paths, and look after paths in an area centred on Bushey but extending widely around. To keep records of the paths and the flowers and animals near them To explore their history To help people understand what can and what can’t be done to paths And to encourage their use by organising walks and rides.

We get involved in all aspects of path work. We have drafted and pursued dedications of new paths, also of diversions where there is substantial public gain. We have held meetings, arranged walks, published maps, produced newsletters, put up signposts, done clearance and improvement work such as stile to gate, or gap, replacement.
